‘Maliput Melodies’ Becomes the Third Odia Entry at IFFI 2025

After Bindusagar and Mahima Alekha, Odia cinema has scored a hat-trick at this year’s 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The Odia feature film Maliput Melodies has been officially selected for the Indian Panorama (Feature Films) section, becoming the third Odia entry at IFFI 2025.

Directed by Vishal Patnaik, Maliput Melodies beautifully captures the soul of rural Odisha through a series of interconnected stories filled with music, emotion, and realism. Its selection underlines the growing recognition of Odia storytelling in national cinema.

The Indian Panorama segment is known for showcasing India’s most powerful regional narratives. Maliput Melodies will now share the spotlight with acclaimed films from across the country, representing Odisha on one of India’s biggest cinematic platforms.

Earlier, Bindusagar was selected for the Gala Presentation, and Mahima Alekha for the Non-Feature Indian Panorama section. With Maliput Melodies joining the lineup, 2025 stands as a milestone year for Odia cinema, reflecting both artistic depth and national recognition.
