India Women Win ICC World Cup 2025

In a proud moment for the nation, India Women’s Cricket Team lifted their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the 2025 final at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.

Batting first, India scored 298 for 7, powered by Shafali Verma’s 87 and Deepti Sharma’s all-round brilliance. In reply, South Africa were bowled out for 246 runs, with Deepti claiming a stunning five-wicket haul to seal India’s victory.

This historic win marks India’s long-awaited breakthrough after finishing runners-up in 2005 and 2017.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur called it a dream come true, dedicating the trophy to “every young girl who dreams of wearing the India jersey.”

The BCCI has announced a ₹51 crore cash reward for the players and support staff.
Fans across India, including Odisha, celebrated the victory with fireworks, music, and pride — calling it the “Golden Era of Women’s Cricket.”
