I had the opportunity to watch the premiere of Ladhei, and it turned out to be a thoroughly engaging and satisfying cinematic experience. The film boasts strong performances by Lohitakhya (Reet) and the entire ensemble cast.
A special mention must be made of the impressive cinematography by DOP Biswajit Kuldi, which adds remarkable visual depth and texture to the narrative.
The story, written by Bharadwaj Panda, is well complemented by crisp and aesthetically pleasing editing by Manas.The background score by Nabajyoti effectively heightens both the emotional and action sequences, while the music composed by Gourav Anand, Addyction, and Somesh Satpathy strikes a fine balance between soulfulness and energy.
The songs are further enriched by the melodious voices of Swayam Padhi, Kuldeep, Aseema Panda, and others, supported by meaningful and evocative lyrics penned by Dr. Nirmal Nayak.
In my view, “Ladhei “is a highly engaging and impactful film, especially appealing to the youth audience. Performances by Lohitakhya, Abhilipsa, KK, Susant Das Mohapatra, Udit Guru, Funi Pratik, Bibhas, Priti Ranjan, Debasish, Chandra, Amiya, Madhusudan Mishra, Rajib Mohanty, Smita Choudhury, and the rest of the cast are truly commendable.
Each character leaves a lasting impression, and the entire ensemble delivers a powerful performance under the confident direction of ace entertainer and director Ashok Pati.
One of the film’s greatest strengths lies in its authentic portrayal of Berhampur—the locations, character names, local dialect, the vibrant Budhi Thakurani Jatra, and the rich cultural essence are beautifully captured.
The songs, powerful vocals, and high-energy dance choreography by Amit Nayak and Ashok Pati are outstanding and add great visual appeal to the film.
Both Lohitakhya and Abhilipsa convincingly showcase their talent in their debut performances, marking a promising beginning to their cinematic journeys.
Another notable highlight is the well-planned and effective promotional strategy led by Debasish Babu himself along with Sambit, complemented by the seamless media management executed by Hara Mohapatra.
Ladhei is a big-canvas action film, skillfully executed by Debasish Patnaik and his team.
